Thorpe Hesley Cricket Club - Founded 1905
2008 proved what to be a exceptionally difficult year for Thorpe, with the theft of the roller, breakin to the garage but worst of all the breakdown of the 2XI.
The Club currently fields one side in the South Yorkshire Cricket League (www.sycl.play-cricket.com) in Division Three.
The Club's objective for 2009 is to maintain in division three whilst setting the foundations for the development of the exciting junior section. This is being achived in conjuction with assistance from the South Yorkshire school development program and a tremendous amount of effort from the club, most in particular Gordon Davis.
Thorpe Hesley Cricket Club is committed to providing a focus for cricket within the local community and the surrounding area through:
• Encouraging participation in all spheres of the game on and off the field.
• Affording young players maximum opportunity to integrate into senior cricket and assisting their development.
• Encouraging the highest standards of behavior and sportsmanship whilst remaining competitive.
