Following back to back promotions in 2004 and 2005, a succesful centenary year and a season of consolidation in 2006 all at Thorpe Hesley Cricket Club are looking forward to a successful 2008.
The Club currently fields two sides in the South Yorkshire Cricket League (www.sycl.play-cricket.com) the first eleven in Division Two and the second eleven in Division Four.
The Club's objective for 2008 is, 'to achieve promotions for the First and Second Elevens from Divisions Two and Four respectively whilst affording young players maximum opportunities for participation’
Thorpe Hesley Cricket Club is committed to providing a focus for cricket within the local community and the surrounding area through:
• Encouraging participation in all spheres of the game on and off the field.
• Affording young players maximum opportunity to integrate into senior cricket and assisting their development.
• Encouraging the highest standards of behavior and sportsmanship whilst remaining competitive.
The news that our Secretary was departing was a great shock to all of us. To lose a cricketer of Roberts talent both on and the off the field is one that we shall all miss, and would relish the oppourtunity to share the field of play again for THCC. Therefore Thorpe Hesley CC would like to thank Robert Armitage for all his fantastic efforts over the past years and wish him every success with his new club.
